"There was an atmosphere of energy, acceptance, non-judgement of others. Wonderfully  open space expertly facilitated by Charlotte who encourages a warm, safe environment  for us to develop... it was jam-packed full of fun, learning and challenges."

ABOUT

1 year creative coaching and upskilling programme for established singing facilitators

IS THIS FOR ME?

Yes, if you:

  • Have been regularly facilitating singing for anything from 3 to 30 years and beyond

  • Would like to deepen your skill, knowledge and confidence in musicianship and vocal anatomy (whatever your starting level)

  • Want to shine and lead confidently through your own unique style whilst enjoying cooperation and collaboration, not competition

  • Want to bring in more money and create a sustainable singing livelihood which reflects your time, care and commitment

  • Are excited at the idea of spending 3 to 6 hours per week taking part in sessions and actioning your learning

  • Want to develop your organisational skills, management, promotion and structure of your singing facilitation work

  • Are ready to be more visible online or in person, sharing what you do with greater confidence

  • Are interested in self reflection, personal growth and being held accountable to taking positive action

  • Are keen to upskill with the potential of expanding into fresh avenues, including 1-2-1s (yes you can!)

IT IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

  • You have been facilitating singing for less than 3 years

  • You are not interested in earning a sustainable wage from your singing work

  • You are not ready to make changes

  • You cannot put in a minimum of 12 hours a month (you may be keen to do a lot more - variable over the year is fine)

BY THE END OF THE YEAR YOU WILL:

  • Be ready to coach one to ones, small acappella groups of all ages or work with audiences which you may not even have considered yet

  • Be stretching the boundaries of your musicianship and taking your new knowledge and ability to your students

  • Have a working knowledge of vocal anatomy - understand what it is you are hearing in the sound quality and how to help your students adjust it

  • Have the confidence to be much more visible both through promotion and in performances

  • Feel the value and unique beauty of your personal teaching style and gifts

  • Be excited about working collaboratively and not competitively

  • Be confident charging an appropriate fee for the value you give

PRACTICALITIES Each coaching intake is small, with a group size of 3 to 5 people. The next intake will be October 2026.

TIME COMMITMENTS During the year we will meet:

  • three times a month live online

  • through messages in the cohort’s WhatsApp community

  • for a weekend residential (accommodation, food and coaching included in course cost)

The timing of our online sessions and in-person residential will be decided between us, based on the timetables of the individuals who are being coached.

You will have approximately:

  • 4 hours of live Zoom calls each month

  • pre recorded musicianship courses to complete

  • regular accountability and sharing in the WhatsApp community

  • revision of course materials and actions you wish to put in place

Therefore you will want to give yourself 3 to 6 hours per week to embed the changes and feel yourself flourishing by the end of the year.

PERSONALISED WORKING Feedback and adjustments for each individual are expected and welcomed. Each facilitator is unique and will inevitably have an array of exciting skills and qualities as well as areas for development. We will identify these together. Every effort is always made to meet you just where you are, as you are, working in the way that suits you. We will have an eye on your stated goals, plus possibilities that you may not even have considered yet. Peer support is also a valuable part of the experience, giving you the opportunity to inspire each other, and share your experience with others who understand your challenges and celebrate your successes.

COURSE SHAPE The year progresses on a monthly cycle:

Live session each month - THE IDENTITY SHIFT

Have you ever considered the vast array of diverse skills you employ to do the work you do? Utilising guided visualisations and a variety of exercises, you will get in touch with your true value, heart-led goals and skillset, and develop a much deeper understanding of your singing facilitation business and money flow. We will break it down, targeting areas that need more attention so that you are organised and competent across all aspects, looking at where you need to prioritise, embed, expand and/or take risks, keep in touch with your ‘true path’ and how to utilise supportive structures for admin, fees and delegation.

Live session each month - VOCAL FUNCTION

You are an expert in listening - but do you understand what it is you are hearing? How can you help individuals and groups create the sound that matches the culture, era, expressive elements or genre of the song they are singing? What is going on with their breathing? What is the register change? How do these things interact with each other? How can you help your singers become truly flexible, fluent singers and musicians? Could you really teach 1-2-1s and/or small acapella groups? Yes you can!

Live session each month - YOUR OWN 1-2-1

How would you like to use this time? To explore and experiment, to generate tasks, to get inspired? For instance, you may come with specific questions in any area of your business, musicianship or vocal function, be stuck and need help to identify blocks or where next, or be looking for vocal coaching to explore your own voice. In each session we will check in with where you are, and look at the best way to use this personalised time.

Every month - MUSICIANSHIP RESOURCES

Each month you will receive a new bank of resources to push you forward in all the elements of musicianship: rhythm, pitch, pulse, sightreading, composing, improvising. They are solfa-based and draw on the expertise of Kodaly, Dalcroze and many years of teaching and musical experience. These do not presume any particular previous musical knowledge but cover all areas progressively so that for instance someone who is not yet sight reading and inner hearing music will have all the tools to develop their abilities by the end of the year - and to upskill their singers too. Whatever your level you will be stimulated and challenged, and will find you can fill in any gaps in your current knowledge, however big or small.

FURTHER RESOURCES

You will also receive access to:

  • planning tools for high quality children's music sessions

  • planning tools for 1-2-1s

  • planning tools for small acapella groups

  • solfa teaching for teachers

  • choir case study, planning and organisational tools for singing groups

  • songs to share with your singing groups

  • warm ups and why

£££ The yearlong course - including all resources and weekend residential (food, accommodation and tuition) - is £2400, which can be paid at £200 per month for 1 year. Alternatively the cost can be spread at £100 per month over two years, or please talk to me about payment.
